VCU offers numerous courses during two winter sessions, both beginning Dec. 28. Intersession runs for two weeks, ending Jan. 9, while January Term (J-Term) runs for three weeks, ending Jan. 15.

Course listings for both sessions are available in the spring 2027 schedule of classes, which can be viewed as of Oct. 12.

Students are only able to enroll for one course over the winter.

J-Term courses' section numbers begin with a "J."

Class times for asynchronous online courses are listed as 00:01 to 23:59 (12:01 a.m. - 11:59 p.m.). This is to prevent students from accidentally registering for multiple courses. For schedule details, view the modality section in the course schedule on eServices.
